Mission Statement

The mission of Booth Library is to ensure that students and staff are effective users of ideas and information by supporting the school's curriculum with access to current, adequate and appropriate information resources.

Resources

Booth Library, named in memory of Fred Booth, loyal friend and trustee of New York Military Academy from 1910-1934, houses 15,000 print and non-print resources, and subscribes to 25 magazines and newspapers with extensive files of back issues to 1959 in hard copy and microform. Library computer resources include 30 networked computers located in the main library area and in the adjacent Brunetti Computer Lab. Two laser printers and a scanner are also available. Microsoft Office is installed on all computers, and selected academic software (foreign language, ESL, etc.) is available on the computers in the lab for classes and individual use. A photocopier is available for 10¢ per copy.

The library's online catalog provides easy access to the books and other materials in our collection, and to the collections of more than 75 school libraries in the region. The catalog can be searched from terminals in the library or from any computer connected to the Internet.

The library is a member of the Orange-Ulster BOCES School Library System and the Southeastern New York Library Resources Council (SENYLRC) which provide library support and services, including a union list of periodicals and access to interlibrary loan.
